Feeding Frenzy & Mid-day Meltdown

I've decided to use my blog as a type of journal to keep track of our everyday life.  Ever since I had Cooper I've been thinking that I needed to start keeping a diary or journal to keep up with his milestones and the fun things we do as a family.  I keep a baby book but I'm not the best at updating it right when "something" happens.  I often find myself looking back on my facebok updates to see when Coop had a big moment!

Today has been an off day for Coop & me.  He's exhausted but hasn't napped well (hints the mid-day meltdown title) & has kind of just been a little stinker in general.  I fed him his baby food earlier with cereal and he thought it would be hilarious to take a swipe at the spoon every time I brought it to his mouth.  It was rather funny the first few times he did it but when he was covered in apples and cherries and I was covered in apples and cherries I was over it.  We finally finished & I couldn't help but give him a kiss... surprisingly the place my kiss landed was covered in apples and cherries as well!

We've been fighting taking a nap too.  I rock him to sleep & on most days he won't fight me.  Today has been a different story though.  We're trying to teach him "no no" when he does something he shouldn't (like scratching my neck when I rock him.)  Well the whole time I rocked him I was saying "no no" and he laughed every time I said it!  Maybe he understands what it means better than I think!  I also tried to just lay him in his crib.  He doesn't cry when I do that, just talks a lot & then spits up everywhere.  It never fails, if we lay him down awake he always spits up.  Oh well, I'm having fun playing with him right now & would be bored if he were sleeping... that just means we'll be having a nighttime meltdown here in a little while!

New to this...

Well this is my first blog.  I've seen that several of my facebook friends have blogs & I thought it would be cute to start up.  I don't know when I'll have a lot of spare time to keep it up but I'll give a try for now.   This one is going to be short & sweet... I can hear Cooper kicking and talking in his crib, a definite sign that he is up from his nap & over it!  Time to play!  : )
