Pumpkin Painting Party

This year on our fall bucket list, I added the activity of hosting a pumpkin painting party.  The easiest way for us to host a party like this is by inviting just family (since ours is large), so the boys' cousins came over for the fun!  I made potato soup, grilled cheeses, some desserts, and provided pumpkins and paint.  I also put out buckets of candy the boys have accumulated from truck or treat events... what's a Halloween party without candy??

I bought mini pumpkins at Linda's Produce, and they were great!  I knew this would get messy with seven young children painting, so I bought a table cloth and pumpkin plates for everyone to paint on at the Dollar Tree... that store has become one of my favorites for party supplies/decorations!

The kids took their work very seriously, and their pumpkins turned out great!  While it was a bit chaotic at times, it was a lot of fun!  The men of the family enjoyed themselves by throwing axes in the backyard while we worked, so everyone was entertained.  Cooper and Clark thanked me multiple times for having everyone over to paint.  I love creating memories for my boys, and I think this will be a good one.

Trunk or Treat 2018

Last night we went to one of our favorite events of the Halloween season - Trunk or Treat!  The boys love this every year, and the weather was perfect last night.  They walked around and got a ton of candy, went on a kids' hayride, and then my entire family piled up for a big hay ride.  It was a great night!
