Happy Wednesday, friends! It's an extremely wet and nasty Wednesday here in Flintstone, but rainy days are nice sometimes... I just want to be in bed though!
1. What we're eating this week:
This is the dinner plan for this week. I still like I'm still recovering from our trip, so I kept it easy. We've already deviated from it some because of a house showing last night, but this is the plan on paper (or iPhone 😉).
2. What I'm reminiscing about:
Disney World! Need I say more?? We had the BEST time! It was exhausting and overwhelming at times, but we already want to go back. I'm going to dedicate a post or two to the trip, but I've got to get all my pictures in order first.
3. What I'm loving:
The weather! It was hot in Disney, like almost 90° every day, that was a bit hot for me for February. I was glad to come home to cooler, spring temperatures. I'd prefer it right around 70°, but I'm happy with the temperatures this week. It's staying light longer too, so we've been outside more! We're hoping to ride bikes downtown this week at some point, and I love doing that.
4. What we've been up to:
Besides our trip, we've been up to lots of cleaning, laundry, packing, and unpacking. Our house was listed the day we left for Disney, so we've been cleaning and picking up constantly for showings. It's exhausting! We're also trying to get back into a regular routine with eating, exercising, and bedtimes. Abel came home sick from Disney, so we've been taking it easy too. I took him to the doctor Sunday morning and he had a double ear infection and sinus infection. We go back for his 2 year checkup tomorrow, so I'm anxious to see how his ears are. If I were a betting gal, I'd bet he's in for a second set of tubes.
5. What I'm dreading:
As of last night around 10pm, our house is officially under contract! We had three showings yesterday, and two of them put offers in, so we ended up accepting an offer that was more than our asking price! As happy as I am about selling and finding somewhere a little bigger, I'm dreading the actual finding a place and moving part. I don't want to pack everything up, and I'm a notorious worrier. A bigger house is going to have a bigger house payment, so I always get anxious over things like that. I'm also afraid we won't find a place to buy soon, and I really don't want to rent somewhere. I guess this is all part of buying and selling! The picture above is from our online listing - our realtor did a great job of photographing and describing our house. It's been such a good house and neighborhood, and I know I'll miss it when we move. We had a lot of showings, so it was exciting, and nerve wrecking, when we got multiple offers yesterday!
6. What I'm working on:
I'm always working on lesson plans and laundry, and that hasn't changed this time around! I have to admit, Andy does more laundry than me, so I'm spoiled there. I'll be working on packing more things up soon!
7. What I'm excited about:
I'm excited about spring and the time change! I'm ready to move on from winter, so I'm welcoming spring with open arms. We have nothing pressing on our schedule for spring (Clark didn't end up signing up for soccer, and Cooper isn't playing anything), so I'm looking forward to getting outside a lot on the weekends!
8. What I'm watching/reading:
I've been in a bit of a reading drought because my library app stopped working, so I'm called yesterday and switched to their new system. There's a lot of books out there I want to read! Hopefully I'll get back into the swing of things soon! I have the hardback copy of Natalie Lloyd's new book, The Problim Children, that I'm reading, and I also just started my personal of hers, The Key to Extraordinary, with my 5th graders.
I just started this book today on a whim. I was talking about it with our school librarian, who also just started it, so I grabbed a copy from her. It was all over Disney World, it's a children's classic, and the movie is coming out, so I figured I'd better jump on the bandwagon. Science fiction isn't my favorite genre, but hopefully I'll like it!
As far as what I'm watching, I'm still making my way through Gilmore Girls. I finished season 3 Monday, so I'm diving into season 4 today! I just love it. Like I've always said, Parenthood is my favorite show of all time, but I really love this one. I'm behind on Fixer Upper and The Big Bang Theory, so I've got to get caught up on those. Andy and I are going to start watching Breaking Bad together, so I'll be adding that to the mix soon.
9. What I'm listening to:
This is a screenshot of my Amazon music search list. I'm still listening to Disney music all day, every day in my classroom. My students are probably sick of it!
10. What I'm wearing:
Here's a little rundown of what I've been wearing lately. I'm working on another "What I Wore Wednesday" post that will be up next week. I've been bouncing between work clothes and athletic clothes, plus spring/winter clothes! Georgia weather is crazy like that.
11. What I'm doing this weekend:
Absolutely nothing! We're done with sports, so we don't have anywhere to rush to this weekend. I can't tell you how good that feels. As a child/teen/early twenty(ish) year old, I loved being on the go ALL the time, but my oh my, how those times have changed! Don't get me wrong, we'll get out of the house this weekend, but nothing is scheduled on our calendar. I'm hoping Andy and I can sneak away for a date night, so we'll see what happens!
12. What I'm looking forward to next month:
I'm looking forward to spring and our spring bucket list!
13. What else is new:
Not much else is new besides everything happening with the house. Like I said, we absolutely loved Disney World, so it exceeded all of our expectations for our family vacation this year.
Alright, I hope everyone stays dry and safe in this crazy weather!
