I'm a few days late on writing this, but we celebrated Coop's 10th birthday last week! I know I say it every birthday, but I can't believe he's 10!! We're really feeling the "tween" stage already with a bit of sass and attitude, but for the most part, he's still our sweet and loving guy. He's always been very smart, but this year he's become more and more inquisitive. He LOVES random facts, and honest to goodness, he's much smarter than me already! I keep telling him he needs to be a statistician when he grows up. He's a great writer and a math whiz! If you give him the right book, he really loves reading too. He ended up getting glasses back in September, and those have helped his headache issues TREMENDOULSY! If you know Coop, you know we've been battling headaches for a very long time. It's been so nice to get some relief from those. He looks super cute in them too.
I have absolutely LOVED being his teacher this year. He's a completely different kid in school than he is at home, and it's been so fun to witness that side of him. He's a great friend, and he's really funny. I never wanted to teach my children, but this has been the biggest blessing in disguise.
We had an unexpected week off of school thanks to Covid, so on his actual birthday, we headed up to Pigeon Forge to celebrate. It was a birthday he will never forget because there was a hotel fire at 2:15am! Of course, it was on our floor too. We had to clear out and couldn't get back in our room until 4:30am. After that excitement we ate a big breakfast, swam, and hit up an arcade. We had his family party this past weekend, so we really stretched out his celebrating. At his 10 year checkup this week, he weighed 62 pounds and was 56.5 inches tall. We sure do love this lanky boy, and we're so thankful he's ours!
